Yes, the Housing Market is Rebounding!

Home prices in the country’s 20 largest cities have risen to their highest levels in nearly two years, according to the leading index (Standard & Poor’s/Case Shiller Index). This indicates that the strong summer selling season helped put real estate on its most stable ground since crashing five years ago. The index showed that prices in July increased 1.6% over the prior month and 1.2% from July 2011. This was the fourth consecutive monthly improvement, which helps consumers and the real estate industry cement confidence that the real estate slump is over. Existing home sales are up; single-family housing starts are ahead of 2011; foreclosure activity is slowing, and inventory of homes for sale is low. For more info, call us at 805-267-0455. Housing Sales in Ventura County Jump 43% in May

Good news for home owners and prospective buyers: home sales in May hit a level we haven’t seen since 2007 in the Ventura County.  Last month, 993 new and existing homes and condos sold in the Ventura County, the highest number of sales since March of 2007.  That vast improvement in our housing market of a 43% jump is the highest percentage increase among the six Southern California counties. Overall, the movement towards normalcy in the housing market showed median sales price increasing 5.4% over the prior year of 2011.  Buyers are recognizing the opportunity that this market affords them and they’re capitalizing while interest rates remain low.   We are seeing increases in all ranges of buyers:  first-time buyers, foreign investors, move-up buyers, as well as renters deciding to purchase. Banks are becoming more motivated in this economic climate to work with buyers (or see those buyers go to other lending sources like credit unions and private investors) as well as to unload their owned inventory and work with short sales instead of foreclosing. It’s a market not to miss!  Please call Kathi, Bob, or Cris McLean for any help you need to capitalize during this very promising...

Finding Homes for our 4-Legged Friends too

The majority of the careers and professional efforts of The McLean Team are directed to helping clients, friends, and family with their housing needs and plans. We also want to help find wonderful homes for those who can’t find them alone.  Those are the dogs and cats in animal shelters whose futures are bleak if they are not adopted by loving people. Cris McLean volunteers at the Lange Foundation, the L.A. animal sanctuary and shelter founded in 1993 by Gillian Lange, recipient of the City of Los Angeles St. Francis of Assisi Award in recognition of her work on behalf of abandoned and neglected animals since 1974.  To date, she has helped rescue and place over 20,000 cats and dogs that would have otherwise been destroyed in shelters. Lange Foundation is dedicated to saving impounded companion animals, and preparing them for a journey to a new safe, loving world.   The dogs rescued come in all shapes, colors, sizes and ages. Some are victims of abuse or neglect; others starving strays; some are purebred and some are obedience trained. Their website at www.langefoundation.com. This week NBC LA is also asking for your support of L.A Animal Shelters and is raising $20, 000 to donate for that purpose.  On Facebook, type NBC LA and “like” the page.  Your “like” equals a $1 donation from NBC with will be matched with corporate donations. So, whether a home for you……or for you to provide to a rescued dog or cat, let us know!...
